Great shot Des. I dont recognise this stone, where is it?
Hi Ed:- I take it you are referring to the Glencolumbcille post – the carved stone is part of the series of sites in the Glen. Glencolumbcille is on the West coast of Donegal, in the Southern section of the county, and furthest West. A great area for exploring. When you get there have a swim at Malin Beg beach – a semicircular beach facing South and getting the Gulf Stream. Not far away is Slieve League, the highest cliff in Ireland. At 1900 ft. it puts the cliffs of Moher (700 ft.) well into the shade. Sligo with its great cairns etc. is a bit further south. Truly the “Wild West” – I was privileged to know it in my younger days Des.
