Polly Woodside

Daughter of a Belfast shipbuilder, Polly gave her name to a steel-hulled fully-rigged ship in 1885. Her namesake sailed the seas until 1922, then in an economic downturn was ignomiously used as a coal storage hulk until 1962, when she was brought from obscurity and gradually restored, based in Melbourne Australia where today she remains a popular tourist venue.
