Donegal Winter

Photography is “writing with light”, they say. But light need not mean sunshine. In rugged country of the West of Ireland the photographer is often faced with the challenge of “available light”, rather than sunshine. Indeed, the great expanses of rock, heather, and on the flat,  all-pervading bog, really show off their beauty and mood on a dull day, as evening falls, long after the traditional photographer has packed up and gone home in disgust! The following shots hopefully convey the mood of this unspoilt landscape as evening falls.
